I hate it when...

...my coworker brings her adorable little almost-2-year-old daughter, Amelia, into the office. I immediately turn into one of THOSE women. You know. The kind that coos and ahhhh!s and squeals and whines "Iiiiii waaaaaannnnnnt ooooooonnnnnnneeee!"

Tick, tick, tick. Shit. My loins are on fire now, and I need a good fucking. Maybe I can find a kind donor on my lunch break.

My uterus has been ticking since I turned 30 and it's PISSING me off. What the hell?

Same here. Right about the age of 30. Then it quieted down when I was 32 and 33. Now it has reared its ugly head again at age 34. It can get scary. But I guess the ticking is there for a good reason. I doubt I'll be having kids, though. That could be a good thing. Or not. Who knows?

Hey, I have to borrow the uterus of another, and all I can do is suggest politely that it tick some.

Maarmie, you didn't "turn into" one of THOSE women. You were born a woman, and like it or not, you've got all the hormones and instincts that have been evolving in us to make us successful as a self-perpetuating species.

It's not too late for you to have kids if you want them. If you do, you should probably get serious about finding a husband. Friends of mine have had pretty good luck with for-a-fee online dating. (I was cheap, tried free on-line dating, and got what I paid for that way.)

I always knew I wanted kids, and was ready at age 25. However, I didn't find the right woman, at the right time, until much later. (We met dancing--woo-hoo!) Baby #1 came when I was 40, and The Little Woman & I are working on #2.

If you don't want kids, don't have them! But for me, the third-best thing in the world is having kids. The second-best thing in the world is having a wife. The best thing in the world is having both. You have to look in yourself to see whether or not it's for you. If it is, you gotta do it! If not, OK. You'll find your fulfillment and happiness elsewhere.
